I was almost ready to hang up my dating boots after too many “meh” dinners and awkward small talks… until she appeared — rocking black leggings and hiking boots, glowing like the main character in a movie set in the woods.So, I shot my shot:“Let’s imagine we’re in a rom-com. What’s the meet-cute scene that brings us together? 🤪🤪”And just like that, she played along — witty, playful, and absolutely magnetic. One message led to another, then a number exchange (because, let’s be honest, Facebook Dating isn’t where love stories end).From that moment on, everything just clicked — from our first chat to this very moment, walking hand in hand toward the happiest plot twist ever. 💍✨

Wow, what a journey it’s been! Back in April 2013, right after my Full Time mission in Ghana, Abraham and I crossed paths and became friends. Since then, our bond has blossomed into something truly special, like that of brothers. I love you Brother, and thank you for your tremendous support for our wedding. You’re the true friend that anyone can truly count on. That’s what a true relationship is. Someone you can count on and you’re one of a gene among few.🎉

Mr. Livingston and I became friends through his wonderful wife, who was a dear friend of mine at the time. When she introduced us, a beautiful friendship blossomed, and now they are cherished family friends. I am thrilled that he has agreed to be a part of my special day, even flying all the way from Rhode Island. The Bride Dad And Other Families Members

Mr. Ray has been a joy to get to know. Our first phone call began with him saying, “Lincoln, I have a problem with you,” and I braced for a reprimand—then he laughed and added, “My only problem is, you are in that freaking Utah.” It was hilarious and instantly put me at ease. Recently he texted, “Lincoln, I can’t wait for you to be my son‑in‑law,” which meant the world to me. He’s kind, funny, and generous, and I already feel like part of the family. I can’t wait to see him in his African suit on the big day.

Mr. Ferguson is truly an incredible person. From the first day I met Laura, she spoke so highly of him, and after getting to know him I can honestly say he is exactly that and more. He’s quietly amazing—full of wisdom, calm strength, and genuine care for others.

I like to think of him as the husband of a future General Authority—Maria, of course.

Thank you for all your support throughout this journey. I especially appreciate the book you gave me for Christmas; “Rule #3” has stayed with me. You said your duty has been to make your daughter happy—and now that responsibility is mine. Then you added that your new duty is to make sure I actually do my duty… wow.

When I asked Randall and Josh if you were taking that responsibility seriously, they said the only tactic so far has been bribing you with excellent birria tacos. Don’t worry—I’m about to introduce you to some real Liberian food, and I might just make you forget all about that “duty” talk.

I’ve been reading your book and have saved the very last page to read after the wedding—it just feels right.

You’ve always opened your home to us with warmth and laughter, and I don’t feel like a guest anymore — more like family. Laura once told me how you met her at a party she wasn’t meant to be at and took her home right away; I like to think you were already protecting her — and for that moment, I’m grateful, because it led me to her.

Since you married the favorite sister, I’m expecting some special treatment going forward — at the very least, a permanent room and a reserved spot at the dinner table when the good food’s out.
